Innovative Eco-centric Consulting

Expert consultants providing strategic advice for regenerative development and eco-friendly practices.

Veriterra, based in Cyprus, started as a passion project in 2016 by Mr. Roberto Sciffo.

Today, we are all about finding solutions that offer personalised consulting services with a focus on regenerative sustainability, by integrating a team of various experts who also share the same basic principles and approach.

We invite you to explore our proficiency in environmental strategy, sustainability assessments, resource efficiency, and eco-innovation.

As a side note, Roberto loves nature and open water, is an avid sailor who has skippered yachts and delivered yachts mostly in the Mediterranean Sea, east coast US, and trans Pacific. He also enjoys freediving.

Currently, he is also a PhD student in Design for Sustainability at Ubiquity University.

About Roberto

Roberto has a varied background. His studies in mechanical engineering (BSc.) concluded with his major project which was an investigation into developing a high technology industry in Cyprus; a thesis that was welcomed by the government of Cyprus. He further applied his degree into the fields of scientific instrumentation and high precision optics for scientific/military use.

However, his interest in wellbeing (interpersonal, intrapersonal, and planetary) led him toward an integrative learning path in alternative health; establishing a Chiropractic health centre in north London (UK), working in the field of team dynamics (in Switzerland and the US), and finally into biological medicine (based on the theory of ionisation) that included the manufacturing of an array of natural heavy metal detox products, in Switzerland.

Most recently, for over a decade, he has focused work and research into understanding on how we can coexist with the planet. These include business in the eco-friendly space, providing trainings, consultation, while still continuing of his education in the field.

Roberto is an alumni of the Capra Course (Dr. Fritjof Capra – Systems View of Life), and a Blue Economy Expert (University of Pécs), holds a PDC (Permaculture Design Certificate), Ecosystem Restoration Design & Gaia Education Design for Sustainability (GEDS) from Gaia Education, and numerous online courses, to build a systems understanding of the challenges, and solutions.

A summary of some of his educational background is listed below:
  • BSc. Mechanical EngineeringWorcester Polytechnic Institute (MA, USA)
  • Master’s Level courses from Blekinge Institute of Technology (Sweden) – distance learning:

Framework for Strategic Sustainable Development (FSSD) – in development for over 30 years, and tested with companies such as IKEA, Volvo, with Municipalities, and even the island of Aland, the FSSD is an effective tool to use in determining a system’s sustainability; both planetary and social aspects.

Sustainable Energy SystemsA Transition Roadmap to a Fossil Free and Sustainable Energy System for Cyprus – Using the FSSD, this was an investigation in the present state of the energy Sources, supply, demand and users on the island of Cyprus. From this foundation, a case is built that is then strategized as to how Cyprus can journey toward a fossil free economy.

Sustainable Transportation SystemsABCD Analysis of Cyprus Public Transport (CPT) bus system. Using the procedure within the FSSD, the ABCD procedure, is a tool that allows stakeholders to take a journey into how to create a sustainable outcome for their particular case.
